April 13, 2010 (goal.com) –Catania striker Maxi Lopez insists he will do all he can to convince Argentina coach Diego Maradona to take him to the World Cup. Lopez has been outstanding for the Etnei since his winter arrival, and he has made an extra effort to help with the cause against relegation. That seems to be going to plan, but he has a bigger picture for the future. "The national team? Maradona told me he needs a striker," he told Itasportpress. "I hope to continue on this road so I can convince him to take me to the World Cup." Catania has helped Lopez revive his career in Europe, and he is hoping to continue impressing in Sicily. "I arrived two months ago and I am satisfied with what I am doing at Catania," he added. "But Italian football is very difficult. And it's more stressful than the South American game. "However, I have found a great environment, and a coach who understands my qualities."
