Line-ups: Roma-Sampdoria

Roma look to Diego Perotti, Mohamed Salah and Stephan El Shaarawy against surprise Serie A leaders Sampdoria.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT)

Coach Luciano Spalletti has more than a few concerns after crashing out of the Champions League with a slew of red cards, which prompted him to strip Daniele De Rossi of the captaincy, and fumbling a 2-0 lead at Cagliari to draw 2-2.

Thomas Vermaelen joins Antonio Rudiger and Mario Rui on the treatment table, while De Rossi shakes off a knock on international duty to start.

Edin Dzeko is dropped to use Perotti as a False 9, flanked by Salah and El Shaarawy, but expect full-backs Alessandro Florenzi and Bruno Peres to pour forward.

Sampdoria have so far won all of their games under Coach Marco Giampaolo, including the Coppa Italia, and went into the weekend as surprise Serie A leaders.

New €10m buy Dennis Praet starts from the bench, but Ricky Alvarez supports strikers Luis Muriel and Fabio Quagliarella.

The last time this fixture ended 0-0 was over 10 years ago and there have been only two goalless Olimpico draws in their last 30 encounters in all competition.

Roma: Szczesny; Florenzi, Manolas, Juan Jesus, Peres; Nainggolan, De Rossi, Strootman; Salah, Perotti, El Shaarawy

Sampdoria: Viviano; Sala, Silvestre, Regini, Pavlovic; Barreto, Torreira, Linetty; Alvarez; Quagliarella, Muriel
