EFE. Rome, March 18, 2010— Mario Bolatti, currently at Fiorentina, says that he chose the viola club because it’s a “World class institution in a city full of history.” That’s the answer that the player gave La Gazetta dello Sport when he was asked why he’d picked Fiorentina while being coveted by Boca Juniors.
“Boca is a great club, but Fiorentina is a world class club”, the player commented before adding that playing for the Tuscan team also means “wearing the same jersey that Batistuta, Passarella and Díaz once did". Bolatti also underlined that being in Florence is now guarantees him the best level of training possible in preparation for this summer’s World Cup, as the Italian championship is “the hardest in the world”, because “it’s all about tactics.” However, the player admits to missing his friends and family and “sipping a mate in good company and enjoying a barbecue.” He also confesses that hadn’t he become a professional football player, he would’ve liked to be a coutryman. Bolatti arrived to Fiorentina last January from Porto.
