Banega impresses coach Emery as forward

The Argentine proved against Lille that his coach can count on him to replace Silva.

Valencia, December 3, 2009. Emery has found in Banega more than just one of the best offensive midfielders in the Spanish league. He’s also found a forward capable of carrying his game a few meters upfield. The Argentine has exposed that he works in either of those positions. He helped the evolution of his area with his mobility, his goal assists, his incredible dribbling, shots on net and breakaways. He seemed to have the ball sowed to his feet and didn’t forget where he was playing at any moment. The six balls he retrieved for his team say a lot about the player’s level.   Banega won’t be playing next Sunday against Athletic de Bilbao in San Mamés, but the Basque coach got the idea about him last night…Banega can be the best replacement for injured Silva this December, as Emery himself has also admitted.
