Madrid, Feb 7 (EFE).- Argentina’s stars shined in Spain’s top teams in the 21st round, so that each club remains in its position. Barcelona leads with 55 points, 5 more than Real Madrid.
Leo Messi, Gonzalo Higuaín and Ever Banega brought goals and elegance to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia, claiming victory respectively over Getafe, Espanypl and Valladolid.
Messi lead Barcelona to a 2-1 triumph over Getafe with a grand goal seven minutes into the game from outside of the 18 yard box, his sixteenth goal this season. At the 67th minute, his pass to Xavi Hernández settled the final score.
At Santiago Bernabéu, Gonzalo Higuaín made his come back after a three week recovery for a torn muscle. He entered the pitch at the 72th minute, in substitution of Karim Benzema. In the last minute of the match, he received a 50 meter pass from Rafael Van der Vaart and closed the score 3-0, scoring his twelfth goal of the championship.
The other important figure of this week end’s matches is midfielder Ever Banega, author of Valencia’s first goal in the 2-0 victory against Valladolid and of the pass that David Villa’s converted into his 15th goal, securing his team in 3rd place with 42 points.
